Thank you to all our parents for their continued support especially providing items from our wish tree. This half term we have been learning all about Traditional Tales-  thanks to questions from out talk partners we have found out huge amounts about different texts and styles of writing!!!! We have also completed a knowledge harvest around the topic of Traditional Tales – what we know already and what facts we would like to find out e.g goat habitats and what goats like to eat, different varieties of goats and caring for goats.  Please send in any books, items, information that you have on Traditional Tales Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Pigs etc. We really love alternative versions of these books like BIG BAD RAPUNZAL!!!!  Thank You Early Years. Thank you for practising our weekly spellings, phonics keyring updates and reading daily. This really supports your childs progress.

We will be holding a Stay and Play session very soon this term and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible attending this.

Please remember if you have any worries or concerns however big or small, come and talk to us about it. We may look very busy in the mornings and after school but we are never to busy to sort out your worries. Please remember that from Monday 19th September the children will be attending school full time and the collection time will be 3.10 pm.  Please continue to leave your child as promptly as possible as this helps them to settle much more quickly – Thank You. We are currently in the process of completing all the children`s baseline assessments in literacy, mathematics and personal social and  emotional  development which will enable us to plan more effectively for your child’s next steps. Thank you for your constant support and please feel free to ask any questions at all.

All that we do and learn in Class M and throughout Early Years is learnt through play and our excellent outdoor curriculum. This has provided the children in Early Years with a rich and stimulating curriculum, that is both broad and balanced. It has built upon the children’s experiences that they have had in their previous settings and given the children a breadth and depth to their learning. Our play based outdoor curriculum has provided the children in Class M and throughout Early Years with an excellent platform to continue their learning journey. NB On PE days could you please tie your child’s hair back if it is really long. This is to help keep your child safe during PE when using apparatus. PE is on Wednesday and Friday.

Please check your child’s book bag every Friday, you can  access the newsletter on the school website home page or see the office staff to request a paper copy. There will also be some activities to share in your child’s book bag. The children will receive letters/ numbers or words from us to practise at home. Last year the children kept these words in popular pencil cases, tins and little pots. As your child’s knowledge of literacy and numeracy expands they will receive more letters/ numbers and words so it is a good idea to keep them altogether in these pencil cases, tins or pots for us all to practise them.

Numicon will come home to one child on a weekly basis – please return the contents in full by a Friday so that we can give it out to the next child – Thank You.

We do lots of fun things in Early Years so please take a look at our photographs from our first week in school! Any concerns you may have during the first few of weeks (big or small) or throughout the year please approach me and let me know as it can be sorted out. I hope that you enjoy Class S and any parents or carers who would like to come in and help us to hear reading or do some cooking or play games with the children please let me know.
Thank you, Mrs Mullett Mrs Maissa Brown Miss Nicklin

Note – if your child is off school sick and you telephone the school – we still require a letter of absence. Thank you. Please continue to clearly name all of your child’s clothing and any other item that your child wishes to bring in to school. There have been a few misplaced items – however many of the items we have found do not have names on so it is difficult to return them.

If you would like to take your child’s PE kit or Forest School outfit home for washing please feel free to do this but please remember to return it on a Monday morning.
Thank you.

Please check book bags for newsletters and other letters.
Thank you for working with us and saying goodbye to your children outside in the mornings. It is working extremely well and the children come in ready to listen and learn.
Thank you
Mrs Mullett
The school day begins at 8.55am and finishes at 3.10pm.
