Key Stage information for parents sept 2020Meet the teacher MT

Class of 2020

Children, we have absolutely loved having you in our class this year. We have had such a wonderful time teaching you and getting to know you, you are all amazing! We are so sad our time has been cut short, but we will look back on the year with fond memories of you all and of all the fun times we’ve had. We have made you a little something to remember the year by, print it off and frame it if you can. We hope you like it. See you all soon. Lots of love to you and your families.

Spring 1 website curriculum overview

We are wishing you all a Merry Christmas and hope you have a very holy and restful break. See you all in January!

Wishing tree

We have a new ‘wish list tree’ on display in the 2T window. On this wish list we will put resources etc on that we are looking for and would absolutely LOVE your help! There will be things on there that we would love to help and support with our learning in class. Please take a look and see if you can help us out. These will change regularly, and the leaves will be taken down when we have received them. THANK YOU!

Spellings – Spellings will continue to be weekly and will be tested on a Friday.

Reading books – Reading is crucial in Year 2 and we do expect children to read every night at home. They do not have to necessarily read their whole book, but must read. Please do sign the diary so we know whether your child has read or not.

PE days – Tues PM and Weds AM.

Forest School

We will be continuing forest school until Christmas

Dates for the diary:

Thursday 7th November – Circus workshop (school uniform)

Christmas play costumes to be in – Friday 22nd November

Tuesday 10th December – Christmas play 2pm

Thursday 12th December – Christmas play 6pm

Zone board and Weekly Certificates

In year 2 the children will continue ‘Pupil of the week’ where someone will be chosen from each class and have lunch with Mrs Woods on a Friday.

We will still be continuing the ‘Over the Rainbow’ certificates for those who have exceeded with their WORK alone.

New into Year 2, is our behavior chart ‘Zone board’. We will be using a daily reward chart for behavior only where children start the day in green and have the opportunity to move up the zone for good behavior into silver and gold. If the children end the day on silver they will receive a sticker to come home, if they end it in gold, they receive a raffle ticket which will be put in a box. At the end of each week, a ticket (or two) will be drawn to win a prize from the prize box! You have to be in it to win it!
