We were delighted to welcome Taznim Kwaja to our assembly, on Monday morning, to speak to the children about the plight of refugees in our local area. This was followed up by the children bringing coins in throughout the week to place on a map of the World in the hall as a symbol of peace and unity. All donations will be used to support refugee families in our local community.
Children and staff were busy demonstrating their wonderful artistic talents on Wednesday as we took part in the ‘Portraits of the Queen’ World record breaking challenge. The quality of art work produced was truly amazing! We look forward to finding out if we helped to break the record soon!
A huge thank you to everyone for your generosity in donating items for our school fete taking place on Saturday 2nd July. It promises to be a fantastic afternoon and we look forward to seeing you there. Thank you also to the PFA and volunteers for giving up their time this week to provide cinema club for the children and carry out fete preparation.
Our year 3 children thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the ThinkTank on Thursday as they explored the world of science and technology in a fun and interactive way. Well done to them for their super behaviour, curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the day.
We were delighted to have the opportunity to meet our new parents at New Intake Evening on Thursday and welcome them into our school community. We are currently beginning the process of transition across the school in order to ensure that all of the children feel ready and prepared for September.
Fortunately the weather was kind to us and we were able to round off our busy week in style with our Early Years sports day this morning – well done to all of the children for their good sportsmanship and athletic talents!
Enjoy the weekend
