Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope that this newsletter continues to find you and your families safe and well as we all continue to adjust to these challenging times. We hope that you enjoyed our staff message as much as we enjoyed putting it together!

As we approach Vocations Sunday (3rd May), we hold in our prayers everyone who is selflessly living out their vocation for the benefit of others particularly during this global pandemic. I would like to share the prayer for vocations with you:

Heavenly Father,

we thank you for the witness and ministry

of the bishops, priests and deacons

and consecrated men and women

in the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Continue to send labourers into your harvest.

Inspire the hearts of your people

to answer your call to the priesthood, the diaconate

and to the religious life.

Bless our families with a spirit of generosity

and may those you call have the courage

to give themselves to your Church in faith.

Send your Holy Spirit upon me

to guide me in my own vocation.

Enlighten my mind to show me what you want of me;

fill my heart with the determination

to answer your call in faith, hope and love.

Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

I have added Vocations Sunday resources, shared by the Diocese, for you to use as families this weekend.

Alongside the range of weekly learning resources provided by your child’s class teacher available on the curriculum pages on the class page section of the school website, the Government have provided additional information to support home learning at this time. Please follow the link below for further information: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize

There are also lots of resources to promote and support positive mental health and wellbeing on the PSHE curriculum page of the website including mindfulness, relaxation and yoga.

We have really enjoyed receiving photos and emails about the exciting activities that the children have been involved in and would like to gain further feedback about our home learning resources so that we can continue to ensure that they are effective. Please follow the link below to complete our hone learning survey: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=rHGoBH12AkCRxyffbK30ks4wrVE_LkdHkNuru_KyanJUODJMWkhRVVg5NTI1MTY3NUY2UjhYSFI3Qi4u

Despite the challenges we face at present, please be assured that we are working closely with colleagues from our fellow MAC schools and with Mount Carmel Pre-School to ensure that transition, for both our yr 4 children and those that will be joining us in reception, will be as smooth as possible. We will, of course, keep you updated with further information as we have it.

We are delighted that our Facebook page is now back up and running- please do use this and our website for regular updates.  Please also contact the school office via office@mountcarmel.worcs.sch.uk if you have any queries or concerns and someone will get in touch with you.

Thank you for your continued support – you and your families are in all our prayers.

Please continue to follow the government advice to: Stay Home, Protect the NHS and Save Lives.

Take care

Mrs Woods
