Dear Parents/Carers,

As we continue to journey through the season of Lent, we are focusing on the Gospel Virtues attentive and discerning. In our assembly we focused on how we can be attentive through listening carefully to God’s teaching and discerning by thinking very carefully about the choices that we make and making sure that they follow God’s way of love, joy and peace. We heard, in the Gospel, that St Peter’s life was changed when he witnessed Jesus being transfigured on the mountain alongside Moses and Elijah and how the more we love God, the more His plan for us will be revealed.

We hope that you enjoyed all of our World Book Day activities including our masked reader challenge! If you didn’t get to see it, please do have a look via the remote learning section of the website! Please follow the link for your child’s virtual World Book Day token which entitles them to a free book:

We will also be issuing paper tokens next week.

We are really looking forward to welcoming our whole school community back on Monday! Please find the letter, issued last week, outlining arrangements for our return on Monday 8th March:

A reminder for all parents who have been accessing key worker provision that we are back to school uniform from Monday.

Can we politely remind everyone that the protective measures are in place in order to keep pupils, staff and parents COVID-safe. Can you please ensure that you:

  • Only arrive at your allocated drop off/pick up time.
  • Wear a face covering at all times when on the playground
  • Remain socially distanced from other adults whilst on the playground
  • Leave the playground promptly after drop off and pick up to enable other year groups access.
  • Make sure that you escort your child (ren) up to the playground and remain with them at all times.

Science Week: We are really looking forward to celebrating British Science Week next week and have an action packed week prepared for all of the children in school including a virtual science magic show and a range of exciting STEM activities.

First Holy Communion: The third workshop in our First Holy Communion programme for our yr 3 children will be available on the website from Monday 8rd March – can we request that the home activity is completed by Friday 26th March 21. We are currently liaising closely with Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church regarding the First Holy Communion Masses for yr 3 and yr 4 within the restrictions at Church and will update you as soon as we have more information.

PE Kit: As, weather permitting, we will be aiming to have our PE outdoors as much as possible, can we ask that your child brings in a warm tracksuit top and bottoms along with trainers as part of their PE kit. Reception children will come to school in PE kit on their PE day.

Vacancies within Lourdes IT: There are currently a number of IT vacancies in the Lourdes IT Team. For further information, please see the Our Lady of Lourdes MAC Website at: vacancies under Lourdes IT

Enjoy your weekends!
