Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope that you have had a good week despite the change in the weather! As we continue to dedicate the month of June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, I would like to share a traditional prayer of consecration provided by our lay chaplain Sam Downes:

O Merciful Jesus,

I consecrate myself today and always to Your Most Sacred Heart.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I ask that I may ever love You more and more.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in Your love for me.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto Your own.

Amen.

It has been absolutely wonderful to welcome our reception and year 1 children back into school this week alongside the children of our key workers. We were pleased to see that the detailed planning and implementation of the government guidelines were successful and, whilst the small group bubbles of children and staff were spread throughout the school, there was a definite sense that we were one step closer towards some kind of normality.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our parents for their support in both the implementation of the partial reopening of school and in the positive feedback we have received through staff phone calls and via email – it has made a huge difference!

I would also like to say a huge thank you to staff who have been working continuously over the past three months in supporting key worker provision, ensuring high quality remote learning resources and preparing for the return of the year groups as specified by the government.

As you are aware, the government has announced this week that no other year groups are set to return this academic year. We are incredibly sad that, due to current restrictions, we will not be seeing children in other year groups during this academic year. We are currently awaiting government guidance in order to begin planning ahead to what September may look like. We are also working closely as a school, and as a MAC, to look at ways in which we can celebrate the wonderful achievements of our year 4 children over the last five years as they prepare to embark on the next part of their exciting journey at middle school. Further information regarding year 4 transition is available on the year 4 curriculum section of the class pages on the school website.

Lourdes IT team have been extremely busy for over the 1/2 term holiday and last week. They have moved over 7 million items and 3000 email addresses over across our multi academy so it has been no mean feat! Our new office email is now up and running smoothly so, if you have any queries, please do get in touch via: olmc-office@olmc.lourdesmac.org.uk

Enjoy your weekends

Mrs Woods
