We cannot believe that we have reached half term so quickly! Thank you for all your support throughout this difficult time. We are so grateful to have you all as part of our Mount Carmel family.
As we prepare for Pentecost next weekend, we share a prayer to the Holy Spirit seeking his strength and guidance:
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.
And kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
And you will renew the face of the earth.
by the light of the Holy Spirit
you have taught the hearts of your faithful.
In the same Spirit
help us to relish what is right
and always rejoice in your consolation.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
As you are aware, the government have deemed it safe for limited pupils to potentially begin returning to school from 1st June, at the earliest, and have decided that schools should take in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils in the first instance alongside existing provision for the children of key workers. We have worked closely with fellow MAC schools, MAC Health & Safety Officer, staff and governors to put together a provisional plan for a possible phased reopening of school for Reception and Year 1.
We have shared information from MAC Directors regarding a possible reopening from the 8th June on the website and have shared details of how this may be implemented in our school with Reception and Year 1 parents. We await further guidance and clarification from the government planned for Thursday 28th May.
Access to remote learning will continue after half term for all year groups. We have some essential IT works taking place over the bank holiday so access to emails will be restricted. Pupils will not be expected to do any work over the 1/2 term holiday and, as such, staff will not be available to respond until Monday 1st June.
Though many of our half term plans may have been put on hold, let’s hope that the sun keeps shining and we can enjoy a ‘staycation’ at home!
