During our assembly on Monday, we listened to Margot from Father Hudson’s Care who talked to the children about all of the hugely important projects they carry out to support children and families in the Birmingham Archdiocese. Thanks to your generosity in donating towards our ‘Odd Shoes Day’ today, we are looking forward to supporting such a worthy cause. If you haven’t had the opportunity to make a donation, it will still be available on ParentPay until the end of term.
Throughout Lent we have been using the motto ‘Pray, Stop, Go’ in order to prepare our hearts and minds for Easter. We have focused on how we can pray more to develop our friendship with Jesus, we can stop doing the things that distract us from God and we can go out towards those around us with acts of love. As we approach Holy Week, we now prepare ourselves for the sadness of Jesus’ death and the joy of His resurrection.
Our year 4 pupils stepped back in time on Monday as they enjoyed a taste of Victorian life including baking Victorian oat biscuits, making an art illusion (a thaumotrope), taking part in a whodunnit Victorian drama, a bubble based music-hall sing-song and playing Victorian games.
Our year 1 pupils looked amazing today as they have enjoyed a range of activities linked to their ‘In My Little Garden’ topic including decorating cakes, making ladybirds, creating life cycles plates, painting Van Gogh sunflowers and filming their fantastic Ugly Bug Ball which will be shared virtually with year 1 parents before the end of term – watch this space!
Reception are having a party on Wednesday 31st March to celebrate all the missed birthdays during lockdown. The children can come into school in their own clothes with sensible footwear.
As COVID rates remain high in Redditch, can I please request your continued support in maintaining our protective measures whilst on the school site. In particular can you please:
- Only arrive at your allocated drop off/pick up time
- Remain socially distanced from other adults whilst on the playground
- Leave the playground promptly after drop off and pick up to enable other year groups access
- Make sure that you escort your child (ren) up to the playground and ensure that they stay with you at all times to avoid contact with other bubbles
- Wear a face covering at all times whilst on the playground
Pupils of the Week:
