Dear Parents/Carers,

As we reach the end of term, we would like to say a huge thank you for your constant support during what has been another challenging term in which we have all been faced with difficult circumstances including bubble and whole school closures. As a result of the strong partnerships that exist within our whole school community, the children have settled back into school life quickly over the last few weeks and we have been able to make real progress in tailoring our curriculum to meet their needs. I think that we are all ready for a short break before we embrace the summer term.

The children have been busy enjoying lots of Easter related activities this week including an Easter egg hunt, creating Easter cards and taking part in Easter quizzes.

We ended the term with an incredibly poignant and moving virtual Stations of the Cross created by children across the school. It was a wonderful way to journey with Jesus and experience together the great sadness of Jesus’ final steps on his way to his crucifixion and death and to the great joy when we celebrate Jesus rising again and we know that he will always be there for us all. Please follow the link below to share at home:

We look forward to completing work on our prayer stone path into the Prayer garden in the summer term. The children have worked extremely hard to create stones that depict the life of Jesus and will provide us with a visual representation of the journey of his life.

Please see the ‘Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church’ website for details of Easter Masses including a live streamed Mass at 4.30pm on Easter Sunday.

Contact Tracing over Easter Holiday:

We have been advised by the DfE that school will need to notify families of the need to self-isolate if any positive cases are reported to us, via email, where symptoms began within 48 hours of the end of term (Thursday 1st April or Friday 2nd April). If symptoms develop after 48 hours of the end of term, parents/carers will need to follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.

On behalf of all of the staff at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, may we wish you a safe, happy and holy Easter!

Take care

Mrs Woods
