Pre-School

Welcome to the Pre School Page!

We are a pre-school situated on the site of Our Lady of Mount Carmel First School. We have been on this present site since 1995. We have excellent relations with the school, and it is our aim to make the transition over to school as calm and stress free as possible.

We offer sessional day care with an opportunity for those children going to school the following September to stay for the whole day. Our sessions run from 8:45-11:45am and 12:00-3:00pm.

At Mount Carmel Pre-School we have an intensive planning program that ensures that all children have the opportunity to experience the complete range of curriculum activities on offer, even if they only attend two sessions per week.

Our curriculum includes introducing the letters of the alphabet with their phonic sounds, and introduces the numerals. We have topic work and celebrate varying multi-cultural festivals.

As a staff team run by committee members we work closely with other professionals, such as teachers, Early Years professionals, and the local college. All staff undertake regular training to keep up to date with all new developments in the field of pre-School care.

We try as many ways as possible to encourage learning and enthusiasm from our children. Once a week we have music and dance sessions, both of which are led by qualified teachers.
