Welcome to the PFA section!

Our Lady of Mount Carmel First School Parents and Friends Association (P.F.A.) has for many years been the focal point of many of the events and functions that take place during the school year. The group usually consists of a cross section of mothers, fathers, relatives, past parents and school staff who all share a common goal – the desire to enhance the quality of life in the school for both pupils and parents.

During the course of the year the PFA organizes a range of events for pupils, some for parents, and a number for families. In recent years functions have included: Discos; Quiz Evenings; Race Nights; Beetle Drives: Christmas and Easter Craft afternoons; Fetes and Christmas Fairs; Skittles evenings and Promise Auctions. These not only fulfill a valuable social function but also raise a huge amount of money that is given to the school for specific projects which would not otherwise be possible.

One reason for the school’s high level of ICT provision is the generous donations given by the PFA over the last five years, and the development of outdoor play areas is also being accelerated as a result of PFA funding.

The committee meetings usually take place monthly, and all are welcome, particularly if they have ideas for new events. All events and functions are advertised in the weekly school newsletter and will also appear on this website.
