4P Class

Hello and welcome to Class 4P.

We are so excited to be into the final term of Year 4. There are SO many exciting things happening over the next few weeks and into the run up to transition to middle school. We kicked off the term with a fun-filled trip to Roman Lunt Fort, and are working hard in preparation for PGL!

General Information:

Please take the time to ask your child about what they have been doing, giving them the opportunity to share their learning. The Year 4 curriculum information page, contains more detailed information about what your child will be learning each week in school. This may prove useful when trying to engage your child in a discussions about what they have been doing at school. I can promise you they have been very busy and should have lots to share with you. Hopefully having this information can help to make those after school conversations more fruitful!

Some helpful sites for children to practise their maths skills in a fun and interactive way:

Your child will have been given a login for Times Table Rockstars (this can be found in the login details section of their Home School Link Book). This is a great resource to use to encourage your child to practise their times table facts (and relate division facts) in a fun and interactive way.

SPELLING TESTS WILL TAKE PLACE ON FRIDAY MORNING. Each Friday, children will be given the results of the previous week’s spelling test to record in their spelling journal as well as the next set of spellings to learn.

P.E.
Your child will be taking part in PE on a Tuesday (unless Swimming, which would be on a Monday) and a Friday. If your child is unable to take part in PE due to injury please write a note explaining the extent of the injury and which activities your child is unable to participate in so that we can find a suitable way of involving them in the lesson. If your child has a verruca, and therefore needs to wear their pumps when indoors, please send in a note marked for my attention. Earrings should be covered with plasters or tape for PE if they cannot be removed (please ensure your child is provided with something suitable on PE days) and long hair should be tied back. Thank you for your support.
